North Central Workforce Development Area Regional and Local Transition Plans

The North Central Workforce Development Board (NCWDB) is soliciting public input on the North Central Workforce Development Area Regional and Local Transition Plans according to the requirements of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) (Public Law 113-128) throughout Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean, and Potter counties. This plan supports the NCWDB’s vision of the Workforce Development System for our region.

WIOA amends the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 to strengthen the US workforce development system through innovation in, and alignment and improvement of, employment, training and education programs in the US.  It is intended to promote national economic growth.  WIOA brings together the following programs: employment and training services for adults, dislocated workers and youth; Wagner-Peyser employment services; adult education and literacy programs; and Vocational Rehabilitation state grant programs that assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining employment.

A public meeting to review the plans will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at North Central located at 49 Ridgmont Drive, Ridgway, PA 15853 beginning at 9:00 am. The meeting will be made available via video conference at all PA CareerLink® centers in Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean and Potter counties and at a location to be determined in Cameron County.  Please see contact information below for additional information.
