Welcome to Laurel Mill Trails

Welcome to the Laurel Mill Cross-Country Ski/Hiking Area - only 3 miles from Love's Canoe Rentals. This 11.6 mile trail, which was completed in 1986 by the Boot Jack Cross-Country Snow Gliders in cooperation with the Ridgway Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest, offers challenges to a wide range of skill levels. The Elk Loop, Cook-Eli Connector Trail, Half Mile Loop and Big Oak Trail are suitable for beginning skiers. Better leave the Scout Loop, Hemlock Loop and Sparrow Nest Loop for more experienced schussers.

Groomed Ski Trails

Grooming of the trails may take place at any time. This service is strictly volunteers from the Boot Jack Cross-Country Snow Gliders.

Log Cabin Warming Hut

The trailhead parking lot is located three miles west of Ridgway on Township Road 307, often called Spring Creek Road. Stop in and warm up In 1990, a warming hut was added as a cooperative effort with the Stackpole-Hall Foundation and FCI-McKean. The charcoal grill was also added and furnished by the Continental Divide Ski Club.
